“My Vermont house sold.  I had less than a month to pack up a 3200 square-foot house, get it into containers for shipping across country to Oregon. A move in itself is an undertaking, combined with a tight deadline, mixed with winter conditions of snow and frigid temperatures. I was in a bind. In a time crunch.

Matt and Joe adjusted their schedules to accommodate my move. The two men are equally outstanding!

I have to say Joe is really something else he’s a working machine, self-directed, efficient, bright, and incredibly strong.

The two men communicate, and work well together at one point remarking that the packing is a challenge of Tetris. I had three containers 16 feet long 10 feet wide 8 feet tall. The first container was boxed tight floor to ceiling : boxes in varying sizes along with furniture strategically placed as added support …a bed was secured to act as a wall for the first third of stack boxes.

Cost conscious and generous : Matt donated items to my move, which cut down on expenses things like extra straps, a huge amount of paper, which I could use liberally to wrap my fragile items and extra boxes for reinforcement and padding.

Outstanding five stars!!  Now, if I can only find their duplicate in Oregon, to unload these three huge containers.

“It’s hard enough to move, but downsizing and moving cross-country adds another layer of stress. We like to recycle and donate whenever we can. Luckily, we had Matt help us sort, make decisions to keep, donate, sell, and discard items. He made suggestions of what we could do, and what he could do for us. We had lots of boxes from our house and my parents, old and new things we didn’t want to throw away but didn’t have the space or desire to take with us. “Anything I write here will sound like hyperbole, but I truly think that Matt is outstanding.
Emptying the large (seven bedroom – plus 2 more bedrooms in guest house!) Dorset house that our family lived in for 50 years was a daunting task, and could easily have overwhelmed us. We thought that dedicating a month to the job would be more than sufficient, but by the time items were distributed to various family members, estate appraisers and after auctioneers had taken what they were interested in, we then had to determine what to do with what remained.  We faced the inevitable time crunch.  Matt to the rescue. “We recently purchased a vacation home in Dorset.  I had already moved most of our new furniture into the garage, while we painted the inside of the house.  When it came time to move, I asked around and got a couple of recommendations.  Both had no time available.  One moving company had recommended Matt Granger.

From the first phone call, my wife and I thought Matt was great.  He told us ahead of time that it would only be him. On the day we needed him, his helpers were not available.  He showed up on time and got to work.  Matt was courteous, careful and knowledgeable on how not to scrape walls and how to minimize the efforts of moving.  He even helped me move a stacked washer and dryer, which was a breeze with the moving straps he came with.

“First: Returned my call quickly. My experience lately is that contractors /businesses don’t even bother to return calls. Second: Arrived promptly at agreed upon time.
